This year, Apple, the technology company headquartered in Cupertino, introduced the iPhone 15 Series equipped with USB-C ports, allowing users to connect with USB-C cables and power banks. Despite this, a recent report suggests that USB-C battery power banks are experiencing compatibility issues with Apple’s iPhone 15, leading to charging problems for users.
Issues with Powerbanks :
As per a MacRumors report, some USB-C power banks currently available are not compatible with iPhone 15 models, potentially due to the iPhone’s reverse charging feature. This can result in issues such as the iPhone 15 not charging or charging the power bank instead.
The report highlighted that various power banks are impacted, making it challenging to identify specific non-functional models due to the extensive variety available in the market.
Opinion :
According to a statement from MacRumors, the Anker PowerCore Slim 10K PD is one of the versions that does not function properly with the iPhone 15. Customers who reached out to Anker were informed that the only solution to charge the iPhone is by using the USB-A port.
Reverse charging problem :
Due to the reverse charging capability in the iPhone 15 series, the charging functionality of the Anker PowerCore Slim 10K PD via its USB-C port is impacted. Unfortunately, there is no current resolution for this problem. The only available option to charge your iPhone is by utilizing power banks equipped with a USB-A port, as stated in the report.
The report also indicated that Anker plans to conduct additional tests on power banks to determine if the problem lies with specific models and will work on finding a solution.
iPhone 15 iOS Beta Update :
At present, Apple has introduced the initial developer beta for iOS 17.1, introducing several new features that were not included in the final version of iOS 17. This developer beta has been released approximately two weeks after the official launch of iOS 17 for iPhones that are compatible with the operating system. iOS 17.1 is designed to work seamlessly with all iPhones that support iOS 17.
This means, all iPhones launched in 2018 and later will get iOS 17.1 when the public build is released.
