Apple’s Software Updates: What to Expect on October 24, 2023
Last week, Apple introduced Release Candidates (RCs) for its upcoming software updates, a standard practice to ensure smooth releases without major bugs. Thanks to an update in France, we now have a confirmed launch date for these updates: October 24, 2023.
iOS 17.1 – New Features and Fixes
- iOS 17.1 won’t introduce the Journal app, but it does come with handy additions. Notably, it reduces radiation levels of iPhone 12 models when they’re not in use on a table or another surface. Other features include the ability to continue large AirDrop transfers over the internet and improvements to Apple Music song favoriting, StandBy mode, and Screen Time. Bug fixes are also part of the package, addressing issues with Messages app search and persistent images on iPhone 15 models.
watchOS 10.1 – Great Additions for Apple Watch Users
- If you own an Apple Watch, watchOS 10.1 brings exciting enhancements. It includes NameDrop support for easy contact sharing and introduces the Double Tap feature for certain models, allowing you to perform various actions like answering calls and accessing the Smart Stack.
